Unlike rest of the Sony phones which are quite boring and unstylish in their looks, Xperia J seems to be quite interesting in looks and design. Xperia J has changed the perception of the typical entry level phones. It has various positive points compared to previous Sony phones available in the market such as: – it is quite inexpensive, has a sleek design, great battery life, CRT clock screen animations, amazing sound quality and sharp and crispy display. One of the most notable features in this phone is that Xperia J is sexy, portable and slim. We can say that it is not very thin and not very light and is able to fight in to tightest of the jeans. Look wise Sony Xperia J is similar to Xperia T.

Specifications must see before buying

Dimension wise it is 124.3 mm in length, 61.2 mm in breadth and 9.2 mm in width and is very light in weight that is approx. 124 gm. It offers two cameras one front facing that is 0.3 Megapixel and one back camera that is 5 Megapixel. Xperia J comes preloaded with Android OS, v4.0.4 (Ice Cream Sandwich) that is planning to upgrade to v4.1. It provides Qualcomm MSM7227A Snapdragon 1 GHz Cortex A-5 processor. The graphical processing unit is adreno-200. It comes with good battery life providing a standby time of upto 607 h (2G) / Up to 618 h (3G) and talk time life of upto 5 h 36 min (2G) / Up to 7 h 18 min (3G). Along with GPRS (up to 86kbps), Edge (up to 237kbps) and Wideband CDMA (up to 7.2 Mbps) facility it also offers WLAN facility and Bluetooth for connectivity. It comes preloaded with 4 GB internal memory and 512 MB ram. It supports the single GSM mini sim.

Pros and cons associated with the handset

Below the display there is a Home, Back and Menu keys. There is no on screen controls and nor menu buttons multi-tasking function. On the left side there is a small micro USB port for charging and connecting the Xperia J to the computer. At the top there is a 3.5 mm jack which is suitable for headphones as it becomes easier to slide into the pocket. The onscreen keyboard of it is quite comfortable for typing in but it may be quite cramped for big thumbs people. No hands free option for dictation is available in it. Xperia J comes preinstalled with android web browser and many of the Google applications such as Google chrome, Google talk and Facebook, etc.

The phone has standard security feature that starts with slide lock. But if you are looking for more security then you can even employ Pattern Lock, Face Unlock and 4-letter password too. Though Xperia J offers nice screen, a good battery life, good sound but it still lacks in performance and the camera quality which is an important area to be focus upon. So, if you are looking for the kind of phone take can last long, then Xperia J is worth to look upon.
